Just released at Baselworld the Hublot MP05 is a tribute to Ferrari.
An imposing piece, its dial brings to mind the impressive mechanical engineering involved in a Ferrari engine and its a tribute to the latest “La Ferrari” (pictured below) .
Comprising the most number of parts yet for a Hublot watch at 637, its movement features a vertical tourbillon and no less than 11 barrels, giving it a power reserve of 50 days.
Hublot has made good use of the signature Ferrari red in the design of the indicators in this unusually shaped watch. The power reserve indicator of the Hublot MP05 is positioned to the left of the central barrels and on the right you find the hours and minutes, whilst at the bottom you will see a small seconds indicator.
An indication of its automotive collaboration is reflected by the fact that it comes with its very own tool set comprising a tool for winding it and one for setting its time. The tool for winding being reminiscent of one used for removing wheels in Formula 1 pit stops, the watch being wound by attaching the tool to the top of the watch (seen above)
The Hublot MP05, like their Key of Time is part of Hublot’s Masterpiece collection and is a limited series of 50 numbered pieces.
This is high-end watch wizardry with a high-end price tag of 300,000 Swiss Francs.
