Making its debut at the upcoming SIHH 2015 the Greubel Forsey GMT Black is a new version of the world-time watch they released in 2011.
It features the same asymmetrical-shaped case as the original (43.5 mm by 16.14 mm) but now in a blackened titanium case treated with vacuum-deposited ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon) a coating originally developed by Cartier.

Greubel Forsey watches are not only known to be impressively complicated, (this watch was a pre-selected nominee for “Grand Complications Watch” at last year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève), but also known for their tourbillons and this new version of the GMT doesn’t disappoint with a 24-second one with a 25-degree inclination. With 18 months in development alone and designed to mimic the planet’s actual rotation another stand out technical aspect of this watch is a tiny, photo-realistic globe, made of titanium which rotates counterclockwise every 24 hours.
The amazing visual spectacle of the Greubel Forsey GMT Black isn’t confined only to the front though, the back features a segmented wheel engraved with the names of 24 major cities representing the time-zones around the world. Two small discs at the centre show summer and winter time.
A new limited edition of only twenty-two pieces the Greubel Forsey GMT Black will set back about 565,000 (about 470,000 euros).
