This past week 4N have released a video (below) via their facebook page announcing the fully functioning version of their mechanical digital watch.
I wrote about the 4N watch originally back in early 2010 when it was announced. At that time there were only computer graphic representations of it available so its interesting to see the progression to this fully functional version in the flesh. It looks a lot more impressive.
The 4N features a digital jumping hour and minute display. Four discs are used to indicate the hour and six discs for the minutes. The manual wind movement consists of 520 components and has a 237-hour power reserve.
It will be available later in 2012. Unfortunately its one of those watches that is out of the reach for most of us, there being just 17 made and priced around 150,000 euros.
You can find more information on 4N Watch at the 4N site.
