Soon to be released the Leatherman Tread is both a multi-tool bracelet as well as timepiece depending on which option you choose.
The bracelet has 11 interchangeable links, each one has two tools on either side such as a screw head or a small cutting instrument, in total the Leatherman Tread watch will have 25 tools.
Apparently the tools can be used without dissembling by removing the bracelet and folding the links to expose the tool, the links snap together.
Tread bracelets will be fully customizable, with slotted fasteners that enable wearers to rearrange links, add new ones, and adjust to within 1/4″ of wrist size. Even the clasp will serve dual purposes: a bottle opener and a #2 square drive.
Going by its appearance you may wonder how comfortable it is, according to Leatherman people have been wearing and testing the Tread for some time and found it to be wearable on a daily basis. Weight may also be a concern given the bulk of the tool heavy bracelet, which is made of high-strength and corrosion-resistant 17-4 stainless steel.
The watch – called the Tread QM1 is a Swiss-made timepiece with a shock-resistant quartz movement, a sapphire crystal and a curved case to reduce reflection and increase outdoor visibility.
The bracelet is apparently set for release this summer with the Tread QM1 watch coming out in Autumn 2015.
