The Hautlence Vortex Primary is a partnership with ex-footballer Eric Cantona that has yielded a striking and unusual design featuring 19 stained glass panels through which the technically impressive Hautlence movement can be viewed (the Hautlence HLR 2.0 calibre).
The hour is displayed by a vertical belt style indicator at the nine o’clock position, the current hour shown through the clear glass panel , similarly the minute indicator also uses a clear glass panel to aid readability although I would have liked to have seen an accent of colour on the minute hand as I find it slightly difficult to read.
The Hautlence Vortex Primary uses black pvd coated grade 5 titanium for its case and this has helped keep the weight down to a mere 48 grams and considering that it measures a substantial 52mm x 50mm by 18mm high makes the feat more impressive.
Unlike other Hautlence models the minute scale has been printed directly on the glass, visible through the panel under this is the regulator which adds some more visual interest rotating 60 degrees every hour.
The Hautlence Vortex Primary is a limited edition of 18 pieces and retails for $199,000
