Has anyone seen a 12 hour,single-hand, day/date watch? Being retired, I don’t have to be places at an exact moment in time, but it’s still useful to know what day it is. –Todd

Very nice and wholearound collection, kudos! So many different brands these days but it is not so easy to really design a logical and intuitive one hand watch – which you can read in a second too. Regarding the discussion above – yeah, Klaus Botta is the modern pioneer of the concept, even if there were other one hand watches in the forgotten past. 😉 Botta Design is also a good example that “made in Germany” is still worth something.

I don’t agree that one hand watches are hardly to read or that they might be irritating. I mean in the first place it actually depends on which manufacturer you choose for a one hand watch, but if you go with the pioneer of them (who was already mentioned by another user) Klaus Botta you’ll get watches that achieve the highest standards, not only in terms of their design, but also in terms of the quality. Those watches are super easy to read. Still.. it’s also a question of personality and philosophy.. I tend to have a more relaxed approach to time. The question is: Do you really need exact times just like “3.03 pm”or “10.39 am” in your everyday life? Wouldn’t “a little after three” or “twenty to eleven” be entirely sufficient in most cases? 😀

To Alfredo – that is the whole point of single hand watched – to live life in more relaxed way, without knowing exact time, but rather seeing the day pass. And in respect to you being German, I completely get it, but… Interestingly single hand watch concept was developed by Klaus Botta in 1986, a German industrial design student! 😉

I like the simplicity of the single dial watch its clean, simple and all you need.
5 minute accuracy is more than enough.
When you need something more accurate than you are to late.
